Dinner by Heston Blumenthal
Restaurant review, by Jay Rayner
It's been the most anticipated opening of the year, but Heston Blumenthal's Dinner delights on every level.
Hanging from the ceiling at Dinner by Heston Blumenthal is a set of large wooden sculptures.
Apparently these mimic the leading of a stained-glass window at Westminster Abbey.
Does it matter that most people eating there won't have the first idea, or see the connection between
this elegant polished wood and the attempt to investigate Britain's culinary heritage which is
the restaurant's shtick?
miX on the Beach
New restaurant from Alain Ducasse - (Puerto Rico)
At the heart of a luxuriant little piece of paradise with an ocean view,
Alain Ducasse opened the doors to this unique and unrivalled table in April 2010.
Passionate about the local produce, he combined the colourful flavours so prized by
the Caribbeans to his all time love, a subtly felt Mediterranean caress.
Mixing together his combined interests, he came up with the Caribbean Cookpot,
Alain Ducasses' signature dish, composed of fennel, carrot, courgette, plantain, daikon, and bread fruit.
The miX on the Beach is well named, to say the least!
