This year Sani Gourmet 2011 is launching a comprehensive introduction to New Greek Cuisine a
cuisine which combines creative originality with influences from a number of different cultures,
thanks to the privileged position of our country in the heart of the Mediterranean,
a crossroads where East meets West.
Greece has a continuous and serious tradition of good cuisine, of subtle flavors, purity
and incredible diversity of ingredients - a diversity which reflects the extraordinary variety of
the countrys landscape;
The Greek gastronomy is based on cooking which delights the sense of taste - not necessarily through the use of
expensive ingredients or complicated methods of preparation.
And this is the secret of haute cuisine: it is based on simplicity of ingredients and preparation - a long tradition
of using the freshest and purest raw materials.
For years now Sani Gourmet has been supporting the efforts of top Greek chefs, inspired by the culinary traditions of
their country and modifying and adapting them to the contemporary world.
Fourteen Greek chefs from Greece and abroad (see Photos) have been invited to participate in the Sani Gourmet 2011.
Those outstanding masters of gastronomy will highlight the core theme of this year's festival, the "New Greek Cuisine" and
urge us to explore new culinary horizons with a scent of modern Greece.
In a spirit of friendly rivalry, our chefs will be launching a debate on New Greek Cuisine, bringing into focus
its special properties and qualities. A week of events that we hope will demonstrate the truth of an old saying:
the secret of beauty lies in simplicity.
The restaurants of the Sani Resort, which they’ll host the "Sani Gourmet 2011", are now renowned for their high quality,
both in service and in the calibre of food they serve. The awards they have won confirm their quality status.
They have set standards which other restaurants must now aspire to meet, not only here in Halkidiki, but across the country as a whole.
