Michelin Stars The Madness of Perfection - 'Michelin Guide' and the procedure of 'chasing' a Star

Food Writer and critic William Sitwel discusses further with renowned chefs about "The Madness of Perfection".

"Michelin Stars" is their main subject.

Marcus Wareing (At The Berkeley) becomes William’s host in his kithen in order to familiarize him with the procedure of organizing, preparing, producing and finally presenting a menu worthy of a Michelin Star.

Francesco Mazzei (L’Anima),Marco Pierre White(known for winning 3 Michelin Stars, keeping them for 5 years and handing them back) and Raymond Blanc (Le Manoir) conduct a conversation about the procedure (winning a star) and the meaning of it from their point of view.

A personal meeting with the President of Michelin Guide completes the research.

However, the extreme reaction of Chef Bernard Loiseau who owned a 3* Restaurant, commiting a suicide just having in mind the possibility of losing a star, is an example of how meaningful a star for some professionals is.

After all, what is a Michelin Star? What’s the result of winning one?

And what really perfection is in the complicated world of Gastronomy?
